Great stories to tell you!
A victim of the bombings of the Second World War, Caen has managed to preserve its charm and architecture, which now attracts millions of visitors every year. Like Rouen, it is one of the cities known as “the city of a hundred steeples” because of the many churches that can be seen, such as the church of Saint-Pierre, the church of Saint-Jean or the church of Saint-Nicolas and its old cemetery. Stop for a moment to contemplate them!
William the Conqueror left his mark on the history of Normandy and more particularly on the city of Caen, which owes him several of its emblematic monuments such as the Abbaye aux Dames and the Abbaye aux Hommes founded in 1060 and 1063 respectively. Let’s not forget also, in the heart of the city, the Castle of Caen and its ramparts which offer a magnificent panorama on the city once up there.
An active city for shopping and going out
With family, friends or as a couple, you can spend a pleasant time in Caen thanks to the many shops, restaurant-bars and leisure activities.

The Vaugueux is a very popular district, full of small, unusual and pleasant restaurants. It’s up to you to choose: local cuisine, cheese specialities, fast food, pizzerias, and many others to delight your taste buds!
As for leisure activities and outings, there is no shortage of them in the centre of Caen and the surrounding area, as well as in Mondeville: laser games, bowling, escape-games with friends, cinema, theatre, concerts, exhibitions and much more.
